This deserves a repost from one of my favorite websites at the moment 🙂
Wear clothes that actually fit your body and make you feel good. Don’t buy the t-shirt you feel sort of fat in because guess what? You will always feel sort of fat in it! Furthermore, don’t buy an item of clothing that’s too tight as motivation to lose weight. You won’t do it and the item of clothing will just sit there, taunting you and your body.
Spend less time hate-reading things on the Internet and more time reading things that will enrich your brain. Reread your favorite novel or essay and try to glean something new from it. Read something that will motivate you to create something, that will motivate you to be somewhere different than where you are. When in doubt, just listen to a particularly inspiring podcast of This American Life. That usually gets the job done.
Surround yourself with people who make you want to be a better person. More kind, more considerate, more productive. We are a reflection of our surroundings, which means that if you’re hanging out with gross people, you’re going to be a little bit gross. Spend time with people who excite you, who possess qualities you would like to have. Walk away from a hangout session feeling invigorated, not dejected.
Take yourself out on dates. Go to the movies by yourself at 3 o’clock in the afternoon and try not to feel so small. Eat lunch outside and bring a book so you’re not just staring into space. It might be scary at first but you’ll settle into it. It’ll feel good. After it’s over, give yourself a kiss on the cheek and text yourself in the next 24 hours saying, “I HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME! LET’S DO IT AGAIN?” Respond immediately with “YES.” Phew. Pressure is off. You are into you!
Let go of the ex who treated you badly. Let go of all the terrible things that have ever happened to you and replace it with this optimism, this certainty that everything will be okay and that you’ll eventually become the person you were meant to be. Some days, it will feel like you’re so far away from accomplishing your goals and that’s okay. Goals are meant to feel far away. That’s why we work towards them! To get some perspective, just think of where you were two years ago and I guarantee that you’ll see that progress has been made.
Avoid the following things: Going to parties with people who are more successful than you, eating over the sink at 4 a.m., talking to your parents about money, talking to ANYONE about money, getting lunch with an old best friend you have nothing in common with anymore, kissing someone who makes you feel nothing, kissing someone who makes you feel too much, not kissing anyone at all for a prolonged period of time, not leaving your apartment for an entire weekend, engaging in behavior you know will make you feel ashamed. Easy as pie, right?
Pay attention. Be self-aware. Try your best to understand those around you. Through understanding others, you’ll gain a better understanding about yourself.
Change is gradual. Change doesn’t happen with a new pair of jeans or moving to a different city. It comes from within. Our generation has no real markers for where we should be. We get there when we get there. The answers are less obvious and clear. All you can really hope for is that you survive with your self-respect intact. In the meantime, just enjoy the ride.
Festivals are making me craaaaazy!!! I cant help but feel envious to people who get to go to these amazing festivals. I wish i have the time, budget, and good company. I dont know if this will forever remain a wishful thinking or this will come true someday. I prefer the latter, and if that happens, i can die already. Kidding aside, my quest in discovering the world is still on going. Slowly im making my dream come true.
So. If given a chance, id go to these festivals. Everyday my eyes are lusting over these events. Truly where i want to belong. My heart is beating so fast whenever i think about these.
5). Full moon party- Koh Phangan, Thailand
Music Genre: Trance, Techno, and R&B
Well, nothing hippie in this event i just wanna include it
This happens once every month during full moon. About 10,000 to 20,000 people come here to party, mostly australians and europeans. This is the most famous party in Thailand
A lot of bucket drinks are being served plus several party games. Since my first true love is techno trance, i am definite im gonna enjoy this party.
Yes, party ends the following day- about 11am. So when you’re coming here, make sure you have lots of energy!!! Im fortunate enough because im gonna go to this parth next month. I really cant wait!!!
4). Zouk Out- Singapore
Music Genre: Trance and Techno
Fourth on my list is Zouk Out! I came to know this from a friend! This festival caught my attention when they featured Avicii last year (2011) im crazy over his levels and sadly i missed the opportunity to watch him play live. I was supposed to go in December but i wont push through anymore due to my sudden trip to Beijing. Well, there’s always a next time.
Its a 2 day event, im just not sure if it requires people to camp, well if yes, the better!!!
3). Coachella- Los Angeles
Music Genre: Alternative, Pop, Country, R&B, rock
This one’s the most impossible thing for me. Tickets are always sold out plus money is highly needed haha. This, if i may say, is the most mainstream among all the music festivals around the world. Festivals are meant to be hippie not mainstream.
See the crowd??? Wonderful right??!!
Since it is a 3 day event, you have the option to go camping. Either you bring your tent or you rent. Coachella has accomodations and i think it costs $195 per tent/space. Oouuccchhh
And dont you love the outfits? I love hippie outfits!! I am sort of having this style at the moment :))
2). Splendour in the Grass
Music Genre: Alternative, Pop, Country, R&B, rock
Now, here comes the coachella version of Australians, the Splendour! This happens in Brisbane every last weekend of July.
This happens every winter so i dont know how people ease the coldness.
1). Tomorrowland- Boom, Belgium
Music Genre: Techno and Trance
Oh god, the people, the sounds, the place, and the outfit…. I died!!! I love the colorful motiff of this festival- very cool!!!
This is my ultimate ultimate dream!! Words arent enough to describe this event! Just watch the video for you to find out! The video explains it all!!!
They say that the best things in life are free, but in my life, the best things are pricey. Sometimes, i am lucky enough to mix business with pleasure because of work. But when i spend my own money, i always make sure to make it enjoyable and unforgettable. I am a very sponteneous person, but trips that are fun and enjoyable should be well planned especially in choosing the people you will be with. No ones wants to travel with boring people anyways 🙂
I began wandering around after college. Why? Below are some of my personal reasons…
1) I felt the need to know the happenings outside my comfort zone
2) i grew up always following people’s commands. I somehow felt the need to make my own decisions and wander around places without the need to worry about curfew.
3) i started to make my own money (from my work) so it means… I can finally finance my trips!!!
4) i became interested to people, foreign land, history, food, culture, behavior.. Etc!
5) I realized the ‘edge’ of a well traveled person compared to a person who’s not.
6) i wanted to be street-smart. I spent 20 years of my life going only to nearby places for my own comfort, and it made me so stupid in some of my life choices because i felt i wasnt exposed enough to the world. So i thought, its payback time!
I made major changes in my life, and one of them is my life decisions. Surely, when i look back i will have nothing but a BIG smile on my face. I dont care how much money i have spent and i will spend in the future. As long as i can travel, i am HAPPY
I will blog about the places ive been for the past 2 years. Will not include anymore nearby trips.
(November 2009) So, first…. Camsur with Friends
(December 2009) up next… Boracay with family
The happiest family trip ever. I didnt spend a single cent in this trip because this trip was a treat from my sister. Im lucky to have cool brothers and funny cousins so expect to never have a dull moment with them 🙂
(March 2010) Then, 3 months after.. I went back to Boracay again, but this time, with my friends
My first ever travel splurge. One thing i realized after this trip was “vacation with friends will exceed your expectation of the word “fun”
(April 2010) A month after… I went to Hong Kong and Macau. I didnt know why i still joined this trip despite of a very bad happening. Well, i didnt care at all because i didnt want to waste my money because of my damned pride. Over all, the trip was fun.
I didnt enjoy Macau the way i enjoyed HK. Theres nothing to see in Macau but five star hotels and casino. So if youre not a gambler, never mind going to Macau.
After this trip, i took a break because my new work in Avon has began and my life then can be compared to the movie “The devil wears prada” but the devil in my life was more evil ha ha ha.
(September 2010) I went back to HK and Macau after five months but this time with another man. Oh yeah, dont judge me by the places i visit and by the people i was with. This trip was a sudden trip! I knew about this trip a day before the flight. So imagine the efforts i made just to make this trip happen.
We stayed at the beautiful “Venetian Hotel”
(April 2011) The 2nd country i went to visit was Singapore. As usual, it was a fun trip with Grace and Ian during 2011 Holyweek
(May 2011) A month after Singapore, i went to Cebu and Bohol. I love Bohol! Such a beautiful place 😉
I would love to go back to Bohol someday.
(July 2011) I went to Sydney with my mom to visit my sister. I spent my 22nd birthday in Sydney. Family to be with my family 🙂
(September) A month after i went home from Sydney, i went to a short trip to Davao with April 🙂 i love Davao the way i love Bohol 🙂
(October 2011) We went to Palawan for Avon’s 5th Quarter conference. Went to the Underground River and some tourist spots in Puerto Princesa, this is my 2nd time in Palawan. The first time i went was the month of May of 2010 for Avon Palawan’s meeting
Picture below was taken last (May 2010)
(January 2012) First trip of the year! Went to Malaysia for Avon Conference. Petronas tower was very stunning 🙂
(March 2012) Trip to the beautiful place, Coron!!! I was with the best people in this planet and so far the best domestic place ive been here in the Philippines 🙂
(April 2012) i hate spending Holy week at home. boring and deadly haha. So i spent it in Boracay 🙂
Below are some of my nearby trips….
Subic Trip (2009)
La Union (2010)
Anawangin (2010) – the most challenging trip ever. Had to sleep in the shore because it was too hot inside the tent.
Lucena (2010) Avon Division C meeting
Baguio (2010) right after my 21st birthday celebration
Batangas (2010) with my favorite people in college 🙂
Baguio for C’s birthday (December 2011)
Pico De Loro (April 2012)
Looking forward to more travel this year.
Next travel would be in Thailand this coming July 🙂
The ending scene of TVD Season 2. This scene made me cry so much 😦 Skinny Love is one of my favorite songs and when it played during the scene, i cried harder!!! The letter of John Gilbert to Elena is beautiful. I was able to find what it says..
“It’s no easy task being an ordinary parent to an extraordinary child. I’ve failed in that task. And because of my prejudices, I’ve failed you. I’m haunted by how things might’ve played out differently if I’d been more willing to hear your side of things. For me, it’s the end. For you, a chance to grow old and someday do better with your own child than I did with mine. It’s for that child that I give you my ring. I don’t ask for your forgiveness or for you to forget, I ask only that you believe this. Whether you are now reading this as a human or as a vampire, I love you all the same as I’ve always loved you and always will.”
